Today’s quote:
“A professional writer is an amateur who didn’t quit.”

Amateur Art
I enjoyed high school art class. I loved experimenting with new media and styles. Some of my favorite approaches involved pointillism and geometric figures. M.C. Escher was an inspiration.
In courses throughout all four years of high school, I learned a lot about perspective and lighting, shadow and contrast. About depth and focus and themes. And about color theory (my opinion on which has drastically shifted in recent days; more to come on this topic in the future).
While my artistic output has shifted mostly to writing since high school graduation, I still occasionally reminisce about the good ole days in the visual arts. Take a trip with me as we take a look at my portfolio.

Brain teaser:
A mirror; made of varied hues,
But only those the makers choose.
A space designed to trap a muse.
And once its soul is captured there,
Imprisoned, hanging in the air,
Then people pay to come and stare.
What am I?
A+
