Pong

Today’s quote:

Table Tennis is like an atom. To the ignorant it is merely microscopic and insignificant in existence, but to the dedicated, it is intricate in design and the building block to everything we know.

– Matt Hetherington

I got a lot of ping back from the last one, so here goes another one. That’s the name of the game, anyway. Back and forth. Ping-pong is a game that represents positivity in the face of adversity (except when you accidentally step on a ball and have to burn it). You move one place and move to another and the ball does the same and your opponent is there and everywhere. Everything happens and anything goes.

Everything happens,

in- and out-side of the ball,

and anything goes.

That’s too much spin, even for me, I once said. We have to know our limits. Ha! Return and reposition, restructure the attack as a defense and vice versa volley, prepare for the swift and inevitable end, construct a coffin with the help of your enemy and wonder who will be the one to drive in the nail. To be the one to put a rally to death is humbling, even on a wicked kill shot.

Riddle:

Two objects perform the same task. One has thousands of moving parts while the other has no moving parts. What are they?
