While it wasn’t a problem with the product itself, the biggest hurdle we encountered was the squirrels. They scared off the birds and ate all the seed. They chewed through the power cable, so we got a rechargeable battery pack.

Cole’s Flaming Squirrel Seed Sauce is essentially hot sauce for birds. A squirrel-repellent mixture that’s safe for birds to consume. The squirrels won’t be harmed either, just deterred by the spice.
It’s worth noting that humans will be deterred by the heat, too. A tip for those who decide to mix the Flaming Sauce into their bird seed: Don’t mix it indoors.
We made this mistake and ended up coughing for hours afterwards. Even though we kept the sauce contained to the bird seed bowl and to the kitchen sink, the particles must have gotten into the air.
Anyway, the bird sauce is effective in keeping squirrels away after a couple of mouthfuls, which solved our only problem with the new Birdfy machine.
