Words with all five vaoiweuls

Amuse-bouche:

It’s not that difficult to tell alligators and crocodiles apart.

One will see you in a while whereas the other one will see you later.

Today’s Wonderful Word: “capullo.”

“Capullo” is a Spanish word that literally means “cocoon.”

“Capullo” is used in slang to mean that someone is an idiot or a fool. I’ve also heard the meaning to describe someone who is stubborn or hard-headed (because they are “wrapped up” in their own ways, like a self-made, egotistical cocoon, and refuse to change).

According to another source, “capullo” refers to a person who is naive, innocent, or inexperienced in matters of love, particularly in Mexican slang.

As we talked about sequoia last week, I figured now would be a good time to mention other words that contain all five vowels in the English alphabet.

[Sorry, “y,” you don’t count as a vowel for now. The list would be much shorter (or perhaps nonexistent) if we had to include you here.]

Anyway – there you go, “y,” a special word with two of you in it – here’s the list of five-vowel terms that were generated from a Google search.

Answer to Saturday’s riddle:

Dear Sir / Madam,

I’d like to complain about the top row of my keyboard.

These letters are not working correctly.

As you may be able to tell, these letters are missing from this document.

I’d be extremely grateful if you could fix this problem.

Kind regards,

Michael
