How to build a reading habit in 30 days

Don’t get confused with « habit » in French. It doesn’t mean the same thing as “habit” in English. I wanted to make it as confusing as possible. Today’s French expression is actually closer to the expression in English, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.”

How to build a reading habit in 30 days

A day-by-day and step-by-step guide.

Day 0:

Step 1: Make the decision to read tomorrow.

Step 2: Keep in mind that you will have to repeat step 1 every day for the next 29 days.

Step 3: Don’t waver from or become overwhelmed by your decision.

Day 1:

Step 1: Pick up a book.

Step 2: Don’t judge it by its cover.

Step 3: Remember yesterday’s decision and make it your intention for the day to read.

Step 4: Read.

Step 5: Renew your decision to read tomorrow.

Day 2 – Day 30:

Step 1: Keep reading.

Don’t give up. Consistency is key. Read in the morning if you can. Make SMART goals. Use Goodreads. I’m a broken record.

That’s all there is to it.

Brain teaser:

Below, you will find five sports with the letters scrambled. As you unscramble the letters to find each sport, you will find two extra letters in each. Once you’ve unscrambled each sport, take the remaining 10 letters to find one last sport.
