Today’s quote: “Open your mind before your mouth.”

May I introduce you to my favorite board game? Wingspan is a one- to five-player engine building game. On your turn, you may play a bird, gain food, lay eggs, or draw bird cards. You have 26 turns to score as many points as possible.
Here’s an example of a completed game:

Each bird card shows information on the featured bird. You’ll see the bird’s common and Latin names, which habitat(s) they can occupy, what food(s) they consume, the number of points the card scores, their nest type and capacity, their power, their wingspan, a map of where the bird can be found in the world, and a fun fact. Check out the Loggerhead Shrikes fun fact below!

Fun fact: Shrikes impale their prey on thorns or barbed wire and may save them for later.

As I mentioned before, Wingspan can be a single-player game. In 1-player mode, you will take on Automa as your opponent. In the picture above, you’ll see a completed game versus Automa.

Here’s a glimpse at the back of the bird feeder. Dice showing each food type are rolled through the back of the feeder to replenish the food supply when it’s low.

My favorite card, as you may have guessed, is the Peregrine Falcon. Fun fact: Diving to attack, a peregrine falcon can reach speeds up to 320 kilometers per hour.
Riddle:
What’s 3/7 chicken, 2/3 cat, and 2/4 goat?
