Bare burdens

Amuse-bouche:

I had a little bird.

Its name was Enza.

I opened up the window,

And in flew Enza.

Today’s Wonderful Word: “ornithology.”

Definition: a branch of zoology that concerns the methodological study and consequent knowledge of birds with all that relates to them.

I see it. There it is.

I can swoop. I can sweep. I can swerve.

I will dive, I will drop, I will drift.

I’m flying, falling, feeling.

And now I’ve got it and going to get some rest.

And now I’ve rested and going to eat the rest.

I wake feeling rested.

I can see it and swoop, but it’s time to drink and poop.

From above, I’m as from below.

From below, I’m far above.

Above a dove in love, we say.

We sing and say they sung without us.

I sing of us today to stay above them.

I get my bearings.

I’ve got my bare wings.

Bearing burdens, I fly with wings to bring my bird in.

I’m here, happy, whole.

I will float, I will freeze, I will flip.

I can stoop. I can stash. I can stabilize.

I am building it. I am home.

Answer to Saturday’s riddle:

Adam and Bob cross together, and this takes 2 minutes. Adam returns across the bridge with the flashlight, and it takes him 1 min. Dave and Claire cross, taking 10 minutes. Bob returns 2 minutes later with the flashlight. Adam and Bob cross together again, and it takes 2 minutes for a total elapsed time of 17 minutes.
