Amuse-bouche:
Six Word Stories:
Basement elevator attendant seeks a raise. – Philip Kingsley, UK
You’re so sweet, but I’m diabetic. – Bradley Sancken, Japan
Today’s Wonderful Word: casarse.
From Spanish, casarse means “to get married.”
Casa means “house.”
The reflexive se is often used when an action verb is done to or related to oneself. The verb casarse shows that marriage is an act of joining houses with someone else.
Namarga: Anagram Anagram
An anagram is a word or phrase formed by rearranging the letters of a different word or phrase, typically using all the original letters exactly once. For example, the word “anagram” itself can be rearranged into “nag a ram.” Also, the word “binary” can be rearranged into “brainy,” the word “adobe” into “abode.”
My favorite anagram is “silent” and “listen.” In silence, one can listen. Silence is golden.
Each phrase below is an anagram of the thing it describes. Can you figure them out?
- Dirty Room
- A Rope Ends It
- Here Come Dots
- Cash Lost in ’em
- Alas! No More Z’s
- I’m a Dot in Place
- Twelve plus one
Saturday’s brain teaser focused on anagrams. When you view the answers below, take a moment to admire the clever clues from Saturday. I will also include below the answers to the above anagram brain teasers.

Anagrams are often used in codes or secret messages. They can be formed of words seemingly unrelated to the solution and contain hints. Try this one, for example: CONFORMING OTTOMAN LEACH. Think about it.
Finally, I have a few recommendations. I recommend the song Anagram by Young the Giant. I also recommend the game Bananagrams. And here is a website where you can make your own anagrams: https://wordman.com/anagram-maker.
